The Royal Ascot, Wimbledon and VIPthrills

The five days of Royal Ascot are over. Held at the Ascot Race Course in Berkshire, near Windsor, the racecourse started by Queen Anne in 1711 was graced by women in formal day dress, hats or fascinators and men in black or grey morning dress, waistcoats and top hat. The Queen was in attendance at this, the pride and joy of the British Spring Social calendar. What next in Britain?

The fourteen days of Wimbledon have started. As part of the Hot Docs International Film Festival (the largest documentary film festival in North America), VIPthrills featured two debenture tickets to Wimbledon in London, England issued for tomorrow, Friday June 25th, 2010 on Court 1. Wimbledon is the top event in competitive grass court tennis in the world. The Championships features top men and women seeds from the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) respectively.

What would have been your VIPthrill experience if you won the debenture tickets? A beautiful early Summer day in London where the forecast is mainly dry and very warm (high temperature of 26 Celsius/79 Fahrenheit); seats on Court 1 for Men’s and Ladies Singles Play at the most prestigious tennis tournament of the year ; and access to exclusive Debenture holder restaurants and dinning areas. The Renshaw Restaurant is the most exclusive of the restaurants at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Here you would be greeted with a convivial glass of Pimm’s or Champagne, accompanied to your Reserved table, and enjoy a sumptuous three course lunch or a light afternoon tea fare.

The tournament has been exciting. We’ve seen a record breaking tennis match held on a Cricket timescale. John Isner and Nicolas Mahut held a three day battle with a score of 6-4, 3-6, 6-7 (7), 7-6 (3), 70-68 in favour of Isner. The Queen was in attendance while Britain’s top seed Andy Murray, after the traditional bow to the Royal box, defeat Jarkko Nieminen . Top seeds including Murray, Nadal, and Wozniacki have advanced.

Access to Wimbledon is difficult without Debenture tickets. You either must qualify through a public ticket ballot or queue for daily tickets. VIPthrills is all about bringing you unique, exclusive and limited access experiences. Register with us and be the first to know.
