Seeking to be recognized for more than their luxury cars, Maybach enters the fray with their new line of luxury eyewear. Much like they produce their cars, the automaker will spare no expense with their eyewear as each set is handcrafted from the finest materials. The lenses are made by Zeiss and the eye gear is built under license by German eyewear manufacturer IVKO. Maybach’s eye collection touts eight models in nine colors and a selection of ten different frames in six colors. Frame style choices range from lightweight, metal, rimless and natural horn rims. These slick frames take cues from the car they’re inspired from with details including metal that mimics the door sill panels and piano lacquer finish on the wood and carbon fiber arms that are made to resemble the finish of the Maybach’s interior. And they, of course, wouldn’t be Maybach without the logo front and center.
But if you’re not the type to be locked in by predetermined designs, Maybach will also offer their “individual” collection that gives buyers the opportunity to fine tune their eyewear. Customers will have the option of 19 unusual natural horn tones, six fine wood or wood/carbon fiber combinations and ten lens tints. The coup de grace of this collection is the 18ct gold details and the option for individual name lettering in the arm. Pricing is currently unannounced but you’ll be able to park these exquisite glasses on your face by the end of October.
